Experienced Dog Trainer In Stratford – at DogWalk, we’ve always believed in building strong, supportive relationships — not just with our clients, but with every dog in our care. That’s why we’re so excited to welcome a new team member who shares that passion and brings something extra special to the table.
🌟 Meet Taylor (and her dog Leo!)
Taylor joins the DogWalk team with a background in dog behaviour and training, and a heart full of patience, compassion, and calm energy. Her journey with dogs started with Leo, her own rescue — a big, sensitive soul who needed more than just walkies and belly rubs. Through working with Leo’s reactivity and anxieties, Taylor fell in love with the process of dog training and behaviour work.

I have 16 years’ experience with dogs – both my own and others – and I am a huge animal lover in general. I have worked with a variety of breeds, age, temperaments and needs. I am especially passionate about helping anxious and reactive dogs and their owners. I do a lot of dog rescue and charity work – including behavioural assessments, dog to human meets, dog to dog meets, training, walking, transportation and home-checks for potential adopters. I have then gone on to support with training needs post-adoption. In 2023, I adopted a Romanian rescue who came with a variety of complex behavioural and emotional issues – this furthered my interest in canine behaviour and I have since completed training with The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers.
Today, she’s not only a wonderful resource for the dogs she works with but also an empowering guide for the humans on the other end of the lead.
Whether it’s a puppy who’s too excited around new dogs or an adult dog who’s developed fear-based reactivity, Taylor believes there’s always a way to help them feel safer, calmer, and more confident — and she’s here to support you every step of the way.
🐕 Why Training Isn’t Just About Obedience
Training is so much more than teaching a dog to sit or stay. It’s about building a language that both you and your dog can understand. It deepens the bond between human and animal, creates routines and structure that help dogs feel secure, and gives owners the confidence to handle real-world situations calmly and positively.
Whether it’s managing reactivity, teaching recall, or helping a nervous dog learn to trust again, training opens up a world of possibilities — and it can completely change how you live and move together.
🤝 The Importance of Socialisation (Done Right)
One of the most misunderstood elements of dog behaviour is socialisation. Many people think it means letting dogs play off-lead at the park — but true socialisation is about helping dogs feel neutral around other dogs and people. It’s not about making them best friends with everyone, but about teaching them that they’re safe, they don’t have to react, and they can stay calm and focused even when the world is busy around them.
That’s exactly what Taylor’s Neutral Group Walks are designed to support.
These sessions are ideal for:
-
Dogs who bark or lunge at others on walks
-
Dogs who get overly excited or frustrated when they see other dogs
-
Owners who want a safer, more controlled space to work on social skills
Each walk is on-lead (no extendable leads) with 4 to 8 dogs and plenty of space. Taylor provides guidance throughout and helps owners read their dogs’ body language and understand the triggers behind reactive behaviour.
💬 Learning to Speak “Dog”
So often, dogs are trying to tell us things — but we miss the signs because we don’t yet know how to “read” them. Through training and behaviour support, Taylor helps owners learn how to interpret the subtleties of their dog’s body language: a flick of the ear, a stiff tail, a yawn that’s not about sleep.
Understanding these cues is like turning the volume up on your dog’s voice. It allows you to prevent problems before they happen, advocate for your dog in public spaces, and build trust that goes both ways.
